World's Smallest Desktop is here -- says LENOVO

Electronics major Lenovo today said it has launched the world’s smallest enterprise computers, continuing its efforts to strengthen the product portfolio for this segment.

Lenovo has released the IdeaCenter Q180, a new member of the Chinese company's Q-Series of small-form factor desktops. Inside sits one of Intel's latest Atom processors, the "Cedar Trail" D2500, along with discrete graphics and a bunch of entertainment hub-centric features. Lenovo claims that the device can handle Blu-ray 3D playback, let alone "Full HD" 1080p video.

Specs include the aforementioned processor, a dual-core design with 1MB of cache running at 1.86Ghz, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, either up to a 750GB hard drive or a 128GB solid-statedrive, AMD Radeon HD 6540A discrete graphics, a couple USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, 802.11n WiFi, an 8-in-1 card reader with support for SDXC memory cards, VGA and HDMI outputs, S/PDIF support, and a Blu-ray drive that docks against the side of the PC:

The products ThinkCentre M72e and ThinkCentre M92p Tiny desktop PCs are priced at Rs 23,500 and above (excluding taxes and without operating system).

Being the industry’s first enterprise 1L PCs, the M72e and M92p offer superior performance and high reliability, the Chinese company said in a statement.

Trends in the enterprise PC industry suggest that an increasing number of organisations now prefer PCs that occupy less space and consume less energy yet perform at optimal levels, it added.
