Selecting a Safe and Free Registry Cleaner to Optimize Windows

Registry an integral part of Windows system that contains configuration settings and Values. These values and configuration settings relate to overall performance of your PC. Therefore, giving importance to Windows registry and optimizing it to avoid PC performance issues makes sense.
The ways you can use to optimize Windows registry are multiple. You can do it manually as well as use software to defrag registry. But what would be the right choice to do it?

Optimizing Registry Manually
Most of the people avoid cleaning computer registry manually because of following reasons:
1.       It takes a considerable time
2.       Unable to understand the complicated Window registry
Since, Windows registry is a complicated database, you are not advised to optimize it manually until you are perfectly clear how to do it safely.

Optimizing With Registry Cleaners
Alternative to manual registry optimization is registry cleaner. A registry cleaner scans through entire registry, finds errors, and fixes them. However, users should beware of few things regarding registry optimizers:

Not all Registry Cleaners are Reliable
You can find wide array of free and premium registry cleaning software online. Every developer claims to have the best software but all are not alike. Some real bad registry optimizing software out there can make your PC even more vulnerable. Therefore, when choosing a safe software to defrag registry, make sure it is safe. For that, you are advised to consider following suggestions:

·         Attributes of a Quality and Safe Registry Cleaner
best-registry-optimizer-features
Make sure the registry optimizer is able to:
1.       Defrag Windows Registry
2.       Create Backup and Restore
3.       Find and Fix Registry Errors
4.       Speed up Windows Performance

·         See Reviews and Ratings
The last thing, you must do before actually selecting software is to see what people are talking about it.  You must check:
1.       The download counter mentioned aside the product to see how many people have actually downloaded it.
2.       The comment section under product to see what people are talking about its functionality
Analyze the user experience and use your sixth sense to make a wise decision.

Google Launches $1,299 Chromebook Pixel With 2560×1700 3:2 12.85″ Touchscreen, Core i5 CPU, 1TB Of Google Drive Storage & Optional LTE

http://www.2013laptop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Google-Chromebook-Pixel.jpg
After a few weeks of rumors, Google just announced the latest device in its Chrome-book lineup: the Chrome-book Pixel. Unlike previous Chrome-book versions, the Pixel is aimed at power users who fully live in the cloud. The device features an impressive array of hardware specs. It has a 12.85 inch high-density 2560×1700 screen (that’s 4.3 million pixels) with a 3:2 aspect ratio, an Intel Core i5 processor and a whopping 1 terabyte of free storage on Google Drive for three years.

Google will also soon launch a version with a built-in LTE radio and has partnered with Verizon to offer 100 MB/month for two years of mobile broadband and with Go Go to offer 12 free in-flight WI-Fi sessions.

The Pixel’s screen, which is obviously the highlight of the device, features a pixel density of 239 pixels per inch. That’s a bit higher than the 220 pixels/inch on the Mac-book Pro with a Retina display, so Google proudly notes that its laptop “has the highest pixel density of any laptop display.”

The basic WI-Fi version of the Pixel will retail for $1,299 in the U.S. and £1,049 in the U.K. The Pixel is now available on Google Play and will also be available at select Best Buy locations in the U.S. and Curry's PC World in the U.K. tomorrow. The LTE version ($1,449) will ship in the U.S. in April. The other difference between the LTE and Wi-Fi models is that the LTE version will ship with a 64GB solid-state drive and the Wi-Fi version will only have 32GB.

Google did not disclose who its hardware partners are, but the company did say that the device is being assembled in Taiwan.

“I think the hardware shines,” Google VP Sundar Pichai said at a press event in San Francisco today. Google, Pichai stressed, wanted to build a device for power users who live in the cloud. “There’s a set of users who are really committed to living completely in the cloud,” he said, and Google wanted to build the perfect laptop for them.

The first thing users will definitely notice when they first open the Pixel is the screen. Not only does it have a very high resolution, but it also features a relatively unusual aspect ration of 3:2. According to Pichai, the reason for this was that Google looked at what people would do with this device, and given that the web still focuses on content that is meant to be displayed horizontally, the design team decided to discard the idea of a screen with the more typical 16:10 resolution and went with 3:2.

The screen, Google says, includes a 0.55mm layer of touch-enabled Gorilla Glass fused directly to the screen. Google says this screen “gives you smooth interactions while preserving picture clarity” and after some hands-on time with the device, Google definitely isn’t exaggerating the quality of the screen, which definitely measures up to Apple’s Retina displays.

Google also stressed that this is a very premium device (something that’s obviously reflected in the price). Pichai, for example, noted that the piano hinge has the feel of a “very premium car door” and the team added rounded corners to the aluminum body to make it feel better when you hold it. Google also stressed that it redesigned numerous components and often had to resort to designing its own parts to meet its specs. The team, for example, added a third microphone to the device so it not only cancels out background noise, but also the noise you make yourself when you type on the keyboard (the Pixel has a 720p webcam for Google Hangouts and other video chats, too).

Despite the premium price and components, Sundai stressed that the overall philosophy behind the Chromebook project hasn’t changed. The Pixel, however, is meant for power users. “We also wanted to design something very premium for power users – people who spend money on their laptops,” he said at today’s presentation. The idea behind Chrome, Google says, “has always been to minimize the ‘chrome’ of the browser. In much the same way, the goal of the Pixel is to make the pixels disappear, giving people the best web experience.”

Chrome itself, of course, has also been optimized for touch, which Pichai believes will soon be on every laptop. The menus are now larger and easier to click on with your fingers.

Asked about how the Pixel compares to the Macbook Air, Pichai noted that the Pixel has a higher resolution and a touch screen, something Apple doesn’t currently offer – especially on a 12-inch device.

The price, of course, definitely puts the Pixel in a premium category and it remains to be seen how the market will react to it. It is, no doubt, the best Chromebook on the market today and the hardware, including the fit and finish of the device, is very impressive. At $1,299 for the basic version, though, some potential buyers may decide to opt for a premium Apple laptop or Ultrabook instead.

How to Fix Your Common PC Problems?

There are number of possible errors that a computer system can have, from a non-ending list of error messages to the various hardware and software failures. Most of these errors may be because of a few issues. A number of errors are those errors that are seen very rarely. However, there are large numbers of errors that are seen by most of the computer users. These errors can collectively be known as common PC problems. Today I will like to talk about how to fix your PC problems you have to deal with most of the time:

1.       PC won’t Start up:
Hardware-Failue_Issue
One of the most commonly seen errors is “PC not starting up.” You start your computer and nothing happens. Now you need to check your computer’s power cable first. If the power cable is fine, then you need to investigate your system power supply. If the system motherboard is not giving display then 90 percent chances that your power supply is not working fine. If the power supply is working fine, then open your computer’s case and take the memory out. Clean it and again plug into your system’s motherboard. Hopefully, the system will start if there is not a major hardware failure.

2.       Blue screen of Death (BSOD):
BSOD-Fix-Blue-Screen-Problem
The worst computer problem which every computer user has to deal with is the “Blue screen of death (BSOD)”. A number of factors could be a possible reason of blue screen of death. All you do when a blue screen of death or stop error comes is you have to reboot your computer. The possible reasons behind blue screen of death could be corrupt DLL files, problems with device drivers or damage software. The solution of stop error depends on the identification of the original problem. Stop error screen provides you an error code, which is very important in the identification and fixing of your computer problem.

3.       Missing DLL files:
Dynamic Link library files have information for your operating system on how to perform a specific task. When a dll file gets corrupt then error messages are start to appear “Error DLL file is missing” application is unable to start. The solution to this problem is to get the corrupt dll file from the internet or reinstall the application that is giving the error messages.

VLC Media Player to stream torrents directly

Torrent capability on VLC Media Player
VLC Media Player the cross-platform, open source media player famous for its ability to play many media formats may soon get the capability to stream media like videos & MP3's directly from torrents.
A group of supporters have pledged $10,000 to develop such capabilities in VLC Media Player. Now for finding developers for that a project has been posted on a freelance website called Elance, which offers $10,000 to those developers who can commit to this project.
The project requires VLC Media Player to play media content using Torrent files as well as Magnet links. This was all reported by TheNextWeb website.
If this is implemented & works as proposed then VLC Media Player users would be able to directly play any media from Torrents.
Technical constraints might be there like VLC would take some time to buffer the media initially & speed of buffering might be variable according to the number of seeds & leechers on the particular torrent.
This type of project was already made using Torrent Stream Magic Player. Using Torrent Stream Magic Player you can play torrents directly on the Player itself. That project is still under development stages.
But introducing torrent capability in VLC Media Player might prove to be a good move as VLC Player already has a large user base. Let us wait for the upcoming versions of VLC to find out the results. You can download the latest version of VLC media player from FileHippo website.

Pirate Bay suing Anti-Piracy group for Copyright Infringement

Pirate Bay is suing Finnish anti-piracy group CIAPC for copying their front page design.
Finnish anti-piracy group CIAPC has recently opened a new website called Piraattilahti. The front page of the website looks like this:
which is very similar to the front page of the popular torrent website Pirate Bay:

“We feel that we must make a statement and therefore we will sue them for copyright infringement. If not even IFPI and their friends can respect copyright, perhaps it’s time to move on?” a Pirate Bay spokesperson said.
The website Piraattilahti is no more than a parody of Pirate Bay as to whichever link you click upon on Piraattilahti page it will take you to a webpage which says: "You got lucky! Movies, TV shows, music, games and books ...... Are all just a few clicks away! And totally legal! Did you know that there are currently a number of activities of legal culture and entertainment web services? For example, the music service is over 15 and they can be heard through the nearly 30 million copies! Services are safe, easy to use and some even free of charge to the consumer. Follow the links below lists covering culture and entertainment from legitimate online services.", and the link below lead to a website called Pro-Music.

BitAddict
Previously it was BitGamer that announced that it has shut down & this time it is BitAddict which has came to end its life. BitAddict was a finnish general tracker with mainly finnish content. This was the message on the main page of the site (Translated in english)
"An era of Finnish p2p's history has come to an end. For five years, Finland torrent world has been dominated by the same entity. Finnish torrent scenellä has been one of the object of worship, one God. Words can not describe the feeling that we all have to BitAddictia. BA is, for many of us as your own child, and that's why the waiver ruopiikin souls. But there is a time and a place. At the same time as the registration requirements of the tracker starts to be at the end of the era, it is time to leave behind BitAddictin. These years BitAddict has offered the Finns, the ability to study the history of movies, music and many other genre of supply in a way that a commercial unit can not still. Already a long time interest in the maintenance of binoculars have been directed to new seas and new projects have been eating less time than a commitment. We can not say that BitAddictista would have become a burden, but in a sense it has already taken longer than given. The final decision of the rivet in the near future have been difficulties in the maintenance of the service area, due to the amount of work which has grown to a level that was no longer meaningful. despair did not need it now more than ever, it pays to be tuned, the maintenance has also reached the ears of a rumor that Finland will be seen something unprecedented in the Finnish torrent scene in the area. these words, we want to thank all of the past years. , BA Staff"

Game Developer supports piracy of his Game on Pirate Bay

Anodyne
Sean Hogan developer of the game Anodyne has taken a more novel approach towards the problem of piracy. When Sean Hogan saw his game Anodyne on Pirate Bay, he decided to embrace this fate. These were his words in some of the comments on Pirate Bay "It's neat that Anodyne's here and I'm glad that means more people can play it, though of course we'd love it if you bought the game, We're tryin' to get Greenlit on Steam so we'd really appreciate it if you and your friends gave us an upvote... Most importantly let us know what you think of the game and if you like it or if it fills you with a burning rage!".

This was not the end he even posted free keys for his game Desura in the comments. Sean said this in a Reddit post "Piracy is inevitable so it's better to embrace it - plus, it gives lots of people who couldn't normally afford the game the opportunity to play it - and I think when you're a small group of developers (only my friend Jon and I made Anodyne), it's better to have lots of people able to experience your game, We hope enough people will like it and the word will get out, eventually allowing us to get onto Steam, which then lets more people see and play Anodyne!".
Sean Hogan is not the first game developer to make such efforts Jonatan Soderstrom supported his game on Pirate Bay. It seems like Indie game developers have found a way to popularize there creations. If you want to show your support to Sean Hogan then you can go to Anodyne website to buy the game.

How to rip videos from YouTube

Ripping from YouTube has become increasingly easier, I've set up the following tutorial in such a way that even the most novice user can easily grab something off YouTube and upload it here.

Things you need

  • browser of your choice, that is it

Step 1:
Go to YouTube and find a full episode you'd like to bring here (preferably one that isn't here in HD already). I'll be ripping PSY - GANGNAM STYLE which you can find here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0

Step 2:
Once you've found the YouTube video you'd like to rip copy the entire YouTube URL, for mine it will be
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0
then head over to KeepVid.com

Step 3:
When keepvid loads paste your YouTube link into the field and hit download

Step 4:
You might have to download their java applet, its perfectly fine. Once you hit download another menu will drop down and ask you what format you'd like to save it in. select MP4! DO NOT select anything else I'll explain later.

Step 5:
You video will be downloading automatically once it has finished & there you have it! no programs just 2 websites and that is all you need.

Why only mp4?

mp4 is an a/v container sort of like mkv , so you aren't re-encoding a youtube file which isn't good. It is already compressed as its streaming. I'm not going to get into the technical details of why you shouldn't re-encode a video that is already encoded or streamed for that matter. Just take my advice you don't want to do it.

Are VPN safe or not?

There are many VPN services out there but not all of them are safe because they LOG your activity. This logging of your activity is what makes you vulnerable to people and institutions that you do not want to be vulnerable to. The logged information points directly to you and whether that information is obtained by sniffing, or an outright court order by the authorities governing that area, it doesn't mater; once they have your IP and connect it to a piece of copyright material, you get a letter from your ISP or sometimes worse.

Further, the logs these companies keep, they keep for various amounts of time.  Some keep logs for only 15 minutes, some for hours, some a day, some say 3 or 4 days, others say 30 days, 60, 90 and some indefinitely.

Only a very few say they don't keep logs but of those few if you read the TOS (terms of service) you'll find that the docs show they are clearly lying, saying if they find you breaking the rules (copyright infringement etc.) they will stop your service without any refund; some even say they will report you to governing authorities  Holy Carpola!

So the only way to keep completely safe using VPN is to be with a VPN company that does not log anything that has to do with your activities.  This way even if governing authorities ask for all info regarding any persons account or IP, or even raid the VPN company, since there are no logs, no information can be obtained!

YouTube: The biggest source for illegal Video uploads

YouTube: The biggest source for illegal Video uploads
YouTube the world's most popular video sharing website has been generating hundreds of millions of views over the past one year on videos which were illegally uploaded. These videos include Hundreds of full-length  films from Sony & Walt Disney. The story does not end here these videos also include hundreds of WWE & WWF videos uploaded daily as each shows RAW & SMACK DOWN are released.
So how is this clear illegal work is to be stopped, well the answer lies within YouTube which is Content ID. It is used by content providers to identify copyrighted content. This tool is available to content owners but still some illegal videos such as full length movies have been there on Youtube for more than a year.

After a long sleep on Thursday Disney successfully used Content ID to bring down some animated movies from YouTube like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia & Peter Pan. But still there is a plethora of illegal content on YouTube which is being viewed by millions daily.
This content piracy issue seems to be a headache to Google. Google has been searching ways to monetize YouTube, some of the ideas include introducing paid channels. If this piracy problem is not dealt with then there might be no audience paying for these paid channels as most of the paid content might be available on YouTube already.
TorrentFreakNews itself conducted a survey on YouTube and found much illegal content. There are keywords like "RAW" which when searched for leads to some results such as the ones you can see in the following image
YouTube illegal videos

These results are absolutely illegal & have been there on YouTube for 9 months. This problem has grown in time for YouTube & if Google wants to make money with YouTube then this needs to be addressed.

Pirate Bay Documentary to be released today

The Pirate Bay Documentary
"In the early days of 21st century, The Pirate Bay grows into the world's largest file sharing site. The major motion pictures studio lost an estimated of $6.1 billion to piracy.
The US government threatened Sweden with trade transactions-- unless file sharing sites, like the Pirate Bay, are shut down.
The trial against the founders of Pirate Bay begins tomorrow.
What are they going to do about it? They've failed taking the site down once. They're welcome to come and fail again.
The trial tomorrow is not about the law, it's about politics.
It's a pleasure to announce that the Pirate Bay is back online! In your face, Hollywood!
They have built a business based on other people committing crimes.
We're demanding compensations of $13 million.
Fredrik Neij stated that as soon as he got an email from some representing copyright owners, Why was it sent to you?
I express myself well in writing as opposed to Fredrik. Please go sondomize yourself.
"

These were the words from the Pirate Bay documentary TPB AFK which stands for “The Pirate Bay Away From Keyboard”. TPB AFK is a documentry that revolves around various trials against the founders of Pirate Bay – Fredik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg and Peter Sunde Kolmisoppi. Pledge for free and open Internet

Google Take Action
Google has started a movement for free and open web for a free and open world. Google is inviting people from all over the world to participate in the Google's Take Action movement. Google has started this movement because in December, some governments sought to use a closed-door meeting of the International Telecommunication Union to increase censorship and regulate the web. According to Google there is a growing backlash on Internet freedom. Forty-two countries filter and censor content. In just the last two years, governments have enacted 19 new laws threatening online free expression. Google stands with the countries who resisted those efforts and with the
millions of the people from all corners of the world who stood up for a free and open web.
So Google is asking for your support in developing free & open internet. If you want to make your voice heard then then go to https://www.google.com/takeaction/#make-your-voice-heard
