A team of researchers that have been conducting a research on bit torrent have exposed many details of Piratebay uploaders & uploaded this data on a torrentguard website. This information includes the IP address, location of the uploaders. The data also includes the number of torrents published by the uploaders & country wise distribution. This information is dangerous to uploaders as now they might get caught & convicted for piracy. This exposure of uploaders information could lead to a less number of new torrents as the uploaders will take measures to stay protected. This is why it is important to stay anonymous while downloading or uploading torrents. TorrentFreak News has earlier published methods to stay anonymous on the internet while browsing as well as while downloading torrents using Tor or VPN.

IFA 2012: Toshiba Launches Satellite U940 Ultrabook

This year's IFA trade show is filled with introductions of Windows 8 products, but we were lucky enough to be invited to a Toshiba press event even before the show actually started. The Satellite U940 is one of the products that we got the early inside scoop on. It is a 14-inch Windows 8 Ultrabook.
The processor is easy enough to divine: a third-generation Intel Core-series central processing unit (CPU). By extension, the graphics solution is clear as well: Intel's HD 4000 integrated chip. This is just the basic configuration though. For those who don't mind paying a bit more than the basic tag (unknown for now, but probably $699 / €699 Euro), Toshiba also provides the option of NVIDIA's GeForce GT 630M (2GB memory, Optimus technology). On that note, there are multiple potential storage setups as well. Buyers can select a maximum HDD capacity of 1 TB HDD, backed by a 32 GB caching SSD, or they can go pure SSD (up to 256 GB).Furthermore, the memory capacity starts low (4 GB if we're reading things right) but can reach 16 GB if money isn't an issue. The rest of the feature set is as "ultra" as Toshiba could make it: SRS Premium Sound 3D, WLAN, Bluetooth 4.0, Wireless Display, USB 3.0, memory card reader, etc.As for the 14-inch screen, it is a LED-backlit panel with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels (HD).
Toshiba will begin shipping the Satellite U940 Ultrabook in the fourth quarter, which probably means October, since that is when Microsoft is poised to unleash the Windows 8 operating system.
Grooveshark back in action on android store

Streaming music service Grooveshark has been under a legal assault from major record labels for quite some time now, but that won't be an impediment for Android users any longer: the official Grooveshark app is once again available in the Google Play Store. As noted by the Wall Street Journal, the return of the app comes less than two months after a judge in New York ruled against Universal's argument that the safe-harbor provisions in the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) didn't apply to recordings originating before 1972. As a result, the judge determined that Grooveshark wasn't responsible for determining the copyright status of recordings made during that time period.
Just because the app has returned doesn't mean Grooveshark isn't still facing legal battles head, but for the moment the existence of the Android app should no doubt help bolster the service's presence in the minds of consumers. "After working closely with Google to get rogue apps removed, we're delighted that the official Grooveshark app has been reinstated," Grooveshark said in a statement. "We look forward to continuing to build a relationship with Android and leverage this fantastic platform for our partners."
Microsoft Skydrive hits android market

Earlier this month, Microsoft gave its SkyDrive cloud storage service a complete design overhaul that brought it in line with the look and feel of Microsoft’s Windows 8 Metro UI. At that time, Microsoft also promised to release its first official SkyDrive for Android app soon and the app has now appeared in the Google Play store. The Android app joins Microsoft’s Windows Phone and iOS apps for SkyDrive and offers virtually the same features. To use the app, Android users need to run Android 2.3 and above, though Microsoft notes that it works best with Android 4.0.
Just like the apps for Windows Phone and iOS, the Android app gives you easy access to all of the documents you’ve stored on the service. You can also see a list of recently opened documents, as well as documents that others have shared with you. You can also open your files with other Android apps and upload files from your Android device to SkyDrive. As far as we can see, the app does not cache local copies of your files for offline usage, however.
While it still feels somewhat odd for Microsoft to launch apps for competing platforms like iOS, Android and OS X, the company has recently made a number of efforts to expand the reach of services like SkyDrive or OneNote. Given that SkyDrive is also somewhat of a hub for many of Microsoft’s web-based initiatives, including its Office web apps, and a cornerstone of its online initiatives, it only makes sense for the company to get as many users as possible to try the service.
With SkyDrive, Microsoft is directly competing with services like SugarSync, Dropbox, Google Drive and Apple’s iCloud. SkyDrive, however, offers new users more free storage (up to 7GB) and additional storage is generally cheaper than on competing platforms.
PirateBay facing DDoS attacks

The most popular file sharing website: The PirateBay was down for some time yesterday due to DDoS attacks (distributed denial of service). The staff of PirateBay said that the website was shut down by them to improve the site against such attacks. Even when the attacks were going on many people were able to access the website from its proxies. DDoS attacks are the one which hit the Demonoid servers earlier this month. But PirateBay staff dealt with them more efficiently & the website was again up & running. There is no proof that the government officials are behind these attacks, but they are one of the few who will benefit from these attacks.

Free, Fast & Anonymous torrent downloads through MAXXO

MAXXO is a new cloud hosting & file sharing site. It is much like Dropbox, but the main difference lies in the fact that MAXXO allows downloading of torrents on its servers, from which users can download the files at any time. So this service is much like a free seedbox- fast & anonymous. But of course as a free user there are limitations too, on a free account you can download only 2 files simultaneously. MAXXO proves to be a big rival for Dropbox which does not allows torrent downloads.
TorrentFreak News previously mentioned other services like this: Zbigz, put.io

Piratebay is promoting a free VPN service known as PrivitizeVPN which is available freely to download from piratebay. The best thing about PrivitizeVPN service is that it is light weight, secure & free. The inventor of PrivitizeVPN service is earning money from it by ads included in this free VPN service. ThePirateBay has a history of promoting such services which piss off many anti-piracy groups. PrivitizeVPN is currently for Windows users only, but as it is becoming very popular we might see it available for other OS too in the near future. PrivitizeVPN has already reached 45,130,104 downloads until this post.
