How to Downgrade uTorrent

Accidentally updated to a new build that isn't on the whitelist? Have no fear, it is an easy fix.

  • Find the version you want here: http://www.oldversion.com/uTorrent.html
  • Backup your uTorrent AppData folder, found here: C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent or C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Application Data\uTorrent for XP
  • Place the file you downloaded in that folder. Or wherever you really want to.
  • Run the downloaded file.
  • Success, all your torrents should be seeding again.

uTorrent v1.8: http://www.oldversion.com/download-uTorrent-1.8.0.html
uTorrent v2.2.1: http://www.oldversion.com/download-uTorrent-2.2.1.25113.html
uTorrent v3.0: http://www.oldversion.com/download-uTorrent-3.0-Build-25824.html
uTorrent v3.1.2: http://www.oldversion.com/download-uTorrent-3.1.2-Build-26821.html

If you have any trouble, just restore the backup and try another build of uTorrent.
