How to Upload An Untouched DVDR using DVDFab

This is a simple program to use. Although it has lots of options, it should not be used to do re-encoding to Xvid or x264, or even re-encoding to DVD5, but to rip the disc to an untouched DVD9 it's intuitive and removes almost all protections in the market.

First, this is what it looks like when you open it:

If DVD is not the default option, you should choose 'DVD to DVD' on the left hand menu and then 'Full Disc'.

After that, choose to see the options (the green button on top right) and ensure they look like this:

Remember to select all of the protection removal options. Next find out which region your DVD is; this is usually specified on the packaging. Change the "To Remove RCE, specify the disc region's code" option to the one needed for your disc. This is step is important to make sure the DVD will play in any region. If your DVD is R0 (all regions), leave the 'Any' option checked.

These are the only options you might need to change. After that, click OK and go back to the main interface. Now insert the DVD:

It will do some checks to discover the DVD size, protections, and features available. When it finished that, you will see something like this:

Below the 'Source' option you can choose the target folder for the rip. You can choose between two options:

• Rip to a Folder; yellow icon on the right: If you choose the folder, the DVD will be ripped to: [folder path here]/FullDisc/DVD name (Volume Label) with the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders inside.
• Rip to an ISO image file; white option with a disc icon: this will create an image of the DVD so it can be burned right away.

TehConnection encoders prefer Ripping to folder so it's easier to encode. If you wish to have your rip encoded, it's better to choose this option. Anyway, choose which one you prefer and continue.

If you can choose all the options, it's important to do this:

• Copying: All Enabled
• Removing: All Un-checked
• Navigation: All Un-checked (you might want to remove the FBI warnings, but in this case I suggest you to leave it un-checked, so the DVD is really untouched, and to prevent possible playback problems)

Leave the volume label as it is.

Now the most important step:

Change the last option to DVD9 and see if Quality: 100% is displayed.

This will make sure no re-encoding is done, and the DVD will remain untouched and identical as it is on the disc.

Review all the options to make sure everything is right. After this, you are ready to begin the ripping process. Choose 'Start'.

When it ends (this usually doesn't take a long time, as it's almost just a copy and paste thing) click 'Finished' and close the program.

Your untouched DVD rip is ready. Check if it's okay and play it with your player of choice. If possible, burn the rip before uploading to make sure it's 100% working.
